Our instructors are fully certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) as Firearms Instructors and are qualified to conduct LEOSA-compliant qualifications. We deliver the required annual firearms qualification, including a review of safe handling and legal considerations, live-fire range qualification using the WSCJTC-recommended course of fire, and issuance of documentation/certification to demonstrate compliance. This enables eligible participants to carry concealed nationwide under LEOSA authority, provided they meet all other federal eligibility criteria.
Course Covers
Annual LEOSA Firearms Qualification: A focused session meeting federal LEOSA standards and recommended WSCJTC proficiency requirements. Includes safe firearm handling review, live-fire qualification with your carry handgun (typically 25+ rounds on a standard target at varying distances/positions), scoring to achieve the minimum passing threshold, and issuance of a qualification certificate or form valid for one year.
- Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act (LEOSA) Annual Qualification for qualified retired/separated law enforcement officers
- (Note: This is separate from CJTC armed certifications for active private security, PI, or bail recovery roles. It does not renew those certifications.)
PrerequisitesÂ
- Must meet federal LEOSA eligibility: Retired or separated in good standing as a law enforcement officer (not for mental instability), served at least 10 years (or service-connected disability), authorized powers of arrest prior to separation, not prohibited from possessing firearms under state/federal law.
- Provide proof of eligibility (e.g., retired credentials, agency separation letter, or equivalent documentation).
- Current Washington State resident (or confirm if qualifying under other state options, but our course aligns with CJTC standards).
- Bring your own concealed carry firearm.
- Participants must not have any disqualifying factors under LEOSA.
Our training prioritizes safe, responsible, and proficient firearm handling in full compliance with federal LEOSA requirements and Washington State guidelines. You’ll receive the qualification documentation needed to maintain your LEOSA carry authority with confidence and legal assurance.
Important Note on Timing and Validity
LEOSA requires annual qualification within the most recent 12-month period. We recommend scheduling your qualification well before your current certification expires to avoid any lapse in eligibility. There is no guarantee of same-day or immediate processing for urgent needs, though we aim for efficient turnaround. If your prior qualification has expired, you may still attend but must re-qualify to regain compliance. No refunds if unable to complete due to eligibility issues.
Emergency/Priority Processing
If you need expedited handling or documentation, contact us at training@aruxgroup.com prior to registration to check availability. A $100 expedited fee may apply depending on circumstances.
