Arux Group provides Washington State-approved firearms certification training for professionals seeking to meet RCW requirements for armed roles in private security, investigation, or bail recovery.
Our instructors are fully certified by the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (CJTC) as Firearms Instructors. We deliver the required annual renewal training, including a refresher on key topics, written examination, live-fire range qualification, and all necessary documentation submission to CJTC for your updated firearms certificate. This supports the ongoing renewal of your armed license endorsement from the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL).
Course Covers
Annual Firearms Recertification (4-Hour Renewal Course): A concise refresher meeting CJTC standards, covering safe handling, legal use of force updates, and qualification with your duty handgun. This includes a closed-book written exam and live-fire qualification to renew your CJTC firearms certificate.
- Washington State Private Security Guard (PS) Armed Certification Renewal
- Private Investigator (PI) Armed Certification Renewal
- Bail Bond Recovery Agent (BBRA) Armed Certification Renewal
- (Note: Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act (LEOSA) Annual Qualification is separate and available only for qualified retired/separated law enforcement officers
Prerequisites
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a current, valid, unexpired CJTC firearms certificate (this is separate from your DOL armed license).
- Possess a valid armed license from DOL (or equivalent for certain roles, such as concealed pistol license where applicable).
- Typically sponsored by your employing company (certificate is issued in the company’s name).
- Your current firearms certificate must not have expired. If expired, you must retake the full 8-hour initial course.
Important Expiration Notice: No Guarantees for Imminent Expirations
If your current CJTC firearms certificate is within 30 days of expiration at the time of course completion, there is no guarantee that processing and submission to CJTC will result in renewal before your certificate expires.
Delays in administrative processing, submission, or CJTC review are outside our control. If your certification expires before the new one is issued, you will not be eligible to carry armed in your role until renewed, and no refund will be provided for the course fee in such cases. We strongly recommend scheduling renewal well in advance (ideally 45+ days before expiration) to avoid any lapse.
Contact us at training@aruxgroup.com if you need assistance planning your renewal timeline.

If you require Washington CJTC armed certification renewal with expedited processing (for example, priority submission), a $100 expedited processing fee may apply, subject to availability. This covers accelerated administrative review and submission.
